Lily Sarafan
Executive Chair and Co-Founder
Lily Sarafan is Co-Founder and Executive Chair of TheKey (formerly, Home Care Assistance) where she served as chief executive through December 2020, taking it from startup to industry leader and recognized best-in-class home care company. Lily serves in various leadership roles to advance precision health, economic development, and informed civic engagement, including the Stanford University Board of Trustees, the Freeman Spogli Institute Council, the Undergraduate Cabinet, and the Life Sciences Council at Stanford. She is Founding Partner of Project BIG: The Brain Immune Gut Initiative and an appointed member of the California Governor’s Alzheimer’s Task Force. She has been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Health Care Executives Woman of the Year, Fortune 40 Under 40, a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. Lily is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves as a board director with Instacart, Thumbtack, and Kyo. Lily holds an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University.
Chris Gerard
Chief Executive Officer
Chris comes to TheKey with a track record of more than 30 years experience in home health, hospice and personal care. He was co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of IntegraCare Home Health, where he built a single home health start-up location into 54 branches, generating $71 million in annual revenues. IntegraCare was acquired by Kindred Healthcare in 2012. From 2012 through 2016, he served in several roles in the $2.5 billion home health, hospice and community care division of Kindred, including Vice-President for South Central Region, Chief Operating Officer and President of the South Central Region. In January 2017, Chris was named as the Chief Operating Officer of Amedisys, Inc., a leading home health, hospice, personal care and hospital at home company based in Nashville, TN. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversaw the day-to-day operations for the company’s 530 locations with over 20,000 employees. In April, 2022, Chris was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Amedisys, Inc. During his career, Chris has served on the board of directors of numerous companies, including Medalogix, Inc, The Ranch at Dovetree, and Occucare Medical Centers.
Gerard received his Bachelor degree in Finance from Texas Tech University-Rawls College of Business.
Greg Meyers
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer of TheKey, Greg Meyers brings more than two decades of experience leading large scale service operations, customer experience transformation, and growth initiatives across healthcare and service driven organizations. He is known for building high performing teams, modernizing operations, and delivering measurable results by aligning people, process, and technology around a shared mission.
Throughout his career, Greg has led complex operations spanning healthcare services, direct to consumer businesses, and large scale B2B service platforms. He has overseen national intake and service operations, contact center environments, field service organizations, and customer experience teams supporting millions of interactions each year. His work has focused on improving access to services, strengthening operational reliability, and building scalable infrastructure that allows organizations to grow while maintaining a high standard of care and service.
Greg is also a strong advocate for the thoughtful use of technology and artificial intelligence to enhance operations. He has led initiatives that integrate advanced analytics, automation, and AI driven insights to improve decision making, reduce operational friction, and allow teams to focus more of their time on high value interactions with customers and patients.
Greg’s leadership philosophy centers on operational clarity, speed of trust, and empowering teams closest to the work to solve problems and drive innovation. He believes that sustainable growth is created when organizations build strong operational foundations while keeping the customer and patient experience at the center of every decision.
Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time with his family and supporting their many activities. He is passionate about faith, leadership development, and investing in the growth of the next generation through sports, service, and community involvement.
Geraldine Terlecki
Chief Financial Officer
Geraldine Terlecki is a dynamic leader overseeing Finance, Information Technology, and the Project Management Office at TheKey, where she drives critical business strategies and transformative opportunities. A CPA with over 30 years of expertise spanning Corporate Finance, Accounting, Audit, and Shared Service Operations, she combines a people-centered approach with cutting-edge technology to cultivate high-performing teams and deliver value-driven results.
Before joining TheKey, Geraldine held senior leadership roles at Warner Music Group, Accenture, Marriott International, and Deloitte, shaping innovative financial and operational strategies across industries. Committed to making an impact beyond the corporate sphere, she actively lends her expertise to several nonprofit organizations throughout the Nashville, TN metropolitan area.
Nina Kani
Chief Legal and Chief Compliance Officer
As Chief Legal and Chief Compliance Officer, Nina provides comprehensive strategic and collaborative counsel in support of the company’s objectives. She is a trusted partner to the executive team, with oversight of all legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance matters. Prior to joining TheKey in 2017, Nina was principal and founder of Kani Law Group, a boutique corporate law firm in Newport Beach, California. Nina began her legal career as an associate at national law firms, O`Melveny & Myers LLP and Foley & Lardner LLP, where she specialized in complex civil defense litigation and compliance matters, with an emphasis in labor and employment. Nina earned a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and B.A.s in Political Science and International Global Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of California, Irvine.
Emily Kraeter
Chief People Officer
Emily Kraeter leads the Human Resources function at TheKey, where she collaborates closely with leaders to foster a people-centered approach to organizational success. Prior to joining TheKey, Emily held pivotal roles at AccentCare, a leading provider of personal care, home health and hospice services, where she led hospice HR operations, M&A people strategies, and HR compliance activities. Her innovative approach and dedication to employee-centric practices have consistently led to enhanced engagement and organizational effectiveness. Emily’s extensive experience also includes significant contributions to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources. With a focus on talent acquisition, strategic counsel, and creative HR initiatives, Emily plays a crucial role in driving organizational growth and effectiveness at TheKey.
Dr. Shadi Gholizadeh
Chief Quality and Innovation Officer
Shadi Gholizadeh, PhD, MPH, is Chief Quality and Innovation Officer at TheKey. A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Gholizadeh leads TheKey’s enterprise-wide efforts to elevate quality, advance clinical strategy, and support both family and professional caregivers through training, programming, and research-informed guidance. She brings a rich background in behavioral medicine and public health, with clinical expertise in aging in place, dementia care, and helping individuals and families adapt to the challenges of chronic illness with dignity and compassion.
Dr. Gholizadeh received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Stanford University, and completed graduate training at the London School of Economics and UC San Diego. In addition to her work at TheKey, she serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at UCLA, where she supervises doctoral students in psychological assessment. She also maintains a small private practice supporting high-achieving professionals who are navigating the complexities of midlife, including caring for aging parents while raising children—the so-called "sandwich generation.
Emma Zumsen
Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Emma Zumsen brings more than two decades of integrated marketing expertise to TheKey, with a proven track record of driving transformation and accelerating scale across complex organizations.
Prior to joining TheKey, Emma spent seven years at Bain & Company, where she pioneered groundbreaking work in marketing experimentation, consumer segmentation, and AI-informed content strategy. Her team’s Experimentation at Scale methodology earned recognition at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Across healthcare, luxury retail, CPG, eCommerce, and private equity, she has consistently helped organizations unlock growth through disciplined innovation and bold strategic thinking.
A Master Certified Executive Coach and doctoral candidate in Organizational Learning & Development at the University of Pennsylvania, Emma is deeply committed to building high-performing teams grounded in curiosity, diverse expertise, and a shared sense of purpose. She believes the strongest brands are built from the inside out — through client-centric strategies that reflect the full range of talent behind them.
Outside of work, she can be found at the pottery wheel, exploring new destinations, or cooking for family and friends.
Katie Safari
President of Concierge Care
Katie Safari is President of Concierge Care at TheKey, where she leads national strategy, operations, and growth across the organization’s home-based and clinical service lines. With more than 15 years of experience in post-acute care—including over a decade in hospice operations, compliance, and multi-market expansion—she brings deep expertise in scaling complex healthcare organizations while maintaining an uncompromising focus on quality.
Katie is recognized for aligning operational performance with clinical excellence, building strong leadership pipelines, and developing the infrastructure required to support sustainable, high-quality care delivery. She is particularly passionate about mentoring emerging leaders and fostering a culture that prioritizes internal growth, accountability, and shared success across the organization.
She holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the University of Denver. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children, traveling the world, exploring the outdoors, and pursuing new adventures from her ever-growing bucket list.
Sonu Singh
Senior Vice President of Information Technology
Sonu Singh leads the Information Technology function at TheKey, where he partners closely with executive leadership to advance a technology-driven, innovation-led approach to care delivery. Prior to joining TheKey, Sonu held senior leadership roles at AccentCare, a leading provider of personal care, home health, and hospice services, where he led enterprise technology strategy, large-scale cloud transformation, and AI-enabled operational initiatives.
His forward thinking approach and focus on practical innovation have consistently improved operational efficiency, strengthened care delivery, and enhanced both client and caregiver experiences. Sonu’s leadership spans digital transformation across home health, hospice, and palliative care, with a track record of building scalable, resilient technology ecosystems that support growth and evolving care models.
With deep expertise in AI, cloud, data, and cybersecurity, Sonu plays a critical role in shaping TheKey’s technology vision driving intelligent, scalable solutions that enable the organization to operate at the forefront of modern, high-quality care delivery.
